How do you heal IBS naturally

Ever feel a cringe of embarrassment when your stomach howls or grumbles?

Those with IBS know this feeling all too well!

Despite it being a very common condition -  affecting up to one in five people in the UK -  scientists still don’t know the exact cause or cure.

Too often we’re told to just live with it, and get on with our lives… and many people don’t even realize they have IBS!

So today we're clearing up some misconceptions.

WHAT REALLY CAUSES IBS  AND WHAT ARE SOME OF THE SYMPTOMS?

Firstly, IBS can develop at any age, but it is most common in young adults and middle-aged adults. IBS is more common in women than men.

The scientific definition of IBS is:  "A disorder characterized by recurrent abdominal pain and discomfort associated with altered bowel habits in the absence of any structural or biochemical abnormality that could explain the symptoms."

IBS happens when your stomach and intestines don't work together properly. The muscles in your intestines contract and relax to move food through your digestive system.

However, in people with IBS, these muscles may contract too much or too little. This can cause food to move too quickly or too slowly through the digestive system, which can lead to the symptoms of IBS.

IBS is a condition that affects the digestive system and is characterized by symptoms such as abdominal pain, bloating, constipation and diarrhea.

The exact cause of IBS is unknown, but it is thought to be due to a combination of factors, including genetic predisposition, gut infections and psychological stress.

In other words, IBS is a condition that affects the way your digestive system works, but there is no one specific cause. This can make IBS hard to diagnose and treat.
